Pre-Post Operative Before and AfterTeeth treated endodontically should not require additional treatment. However, in rare cases these teeth fail to completely heal or become inflamed or infected again. In these cases, non-surgical root canal re-treatment is an option.

The procedure is very similar to initial root canal treatment. Since the pulp has already been removed and root canal fill material put in its place during initial treatment, the fill material is removed during re-treatment. The canals are then re-cleaned and resealed with new gutta percha and a temporary filling placed in the opening of the crown.
